Re: Is Limping always wrong?
I have a hard time seeing the benefit with openlimping on the button but sure there are some times when it's propriate to limp, like when there are a three fullstack limpers, you have the button and BB has got 12bb and you look down at 56s.

[ QUOTE ] BBuddy said in a hsnl thread that he's seen lolo open limp button several times [/ QUOTE ] which only goes to prove even good players make mistakes. several times. [/ QUOTE ] There are certainly strategic situations where openlimping the button is a decent play, but I think these benefits are completely related to metagame and involve very good players who have thousands of hands together. When that is the case, chances are something like openlimping the button will confuse them as to your holdings enough that it can be good, particularly given the relative size of stacks behind at this point. In the MSNL context, these conditions will rarely apply. And hands like those mentioned in the OP will not be the ones i'm talking about. |

Re: Is Limping always wrong?
[ QUOTE ]
let me clear up my question. lets say you are in the CO or Button position, and you look down at a bad hand...like......7-3o or Q-7o or 2-4s...bad hands, but if u have a read on ur opponent or you know that you aren't going to be reraised(I mean to an extent because you can't always be right) is it an "acceptable' move to limp here and hope to hit? I'd like to hear ur opinion on this when u have an average stack compared to a large stack. thank you [/ QUOTE ] Your question still isn't clear. Are you open limping? Limpers in front of you? |

in that or a similar case, it is +EV to go for the 1:50 shot at flopping two pair or trips with trash. [/ QUOTE ] What are the real odds of flopping at least two pair? |

Re: Is Limping always wrong?
There is nothing wrong with limping on CO or the Button if you have a good reason to do so.
