KQs passive line
This hand felt weird because it was played much more passively than normal, but I think I may have gotten it right. I've been semi-bluff raising less and less lately, as I feel that I've been leaking chips in these spots. So I took a more passive route. I'd like to hear what you guys think:
6 handed 10/20. I've been at the table for 40 hands or so and am about even. This table was very good, but the 2 major players making it so (SB and BB) weren't really factors in this hand. Other players seem average, haven't gotten out of line, most likely not winning players. UTG limps. He seemed TAG and hadn't done anything fishy until this. UTG+1 raised. He had only raised 2% of his hands PF up until now. Hadn't seen him show anything down yet. My read was loose passive. I'm next and cold call with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Three-betting this player didn't seem quite right, so I just called hoping to get a multiway pot. SB, BB, and UTG call. 5 way action. Flop Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG bets out, UTG+1 calls, I call(??), SB folds, BB calls. Turn 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB checks, UTG now checks, UTG+1 bets, I call (??), BB folds, UTG check raises, we both call. River 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG bets, UTG+1 calls, I fold. Thoughts? |

Re: KQs passive line
I would raise the flop with top pair and the high end of the open ended straight draw, then play it from there. You mention you've been semi-bluff raising less, but you have top pair in this hand to go with your draw so your equity against their ranges is very good.

woah woah woah... KQs no 3 bet, no raise, no call TPGK!? I think on the flop our equity is huge and on the river we cant fold...

Re: KQs passive line
Raise the flop. Pot's already big, and you'll probably get some calls anyway.
I wouldn't semi bluff this turn, especially if the passive reraises this flop, as he's never ever folding a hand here. |

Re: KQs passive line
Raise the flop for value.
Also: How often do you CC in 6-max? |

Re: KQs passive line
Yep, raise flop. The way you played it you've got to fold river imo.

Re: KQs passive line
Against an open limp and a guy with 2% pre flop raise raising, I muck KQs here preflop.
I don't hate calling the flop, but I think I would raise the turn. Raising the flop really gives you little information and pushes a tiny if existant edge. You don't know much about what the cold callers have. Raising the turn gives you a chance to get some people to fold legit straight draws/2pairs etc. Pushes out lots of hands drawing to 2 pair that could smash you in such a big pot. Gives you much more information, and it only costs 1 sb more. I think its close between raising the flop vs raising the turn, and I think it depends on what you think these guys will peel with against a raise on the flop, and what they will peel with vs a raise on the turn. blake |

[/ QUOTE ] If he has a pfr of 2 then his range his something like AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT, AK or AQ. We are behind to all of these. How can this be for value? |

on the river we cant fold... [/ QUOTE ] what hands do you beat after UTG (who check-raised a bettor and caller on the turn) bets the river and the PFR calls? |
