Default simple preflop question: AK early in 55 SNG

$55 SNG on party

just started, everyone has full 2k stacks
first 3 hands everyone has played pretty tight, everyone folding to a preflop raise or on the flop

UTG limps for 40, MP raises to 180, i have AKo in LP. what's the standard play here?

Call

Folding is to weak
Re-raising can put you in awkward situations

i agree re-raising can put us in awkward situation, but tell me what range you put MP on that you like calling rather than folding

I just push. More often than not we pick up 280 chips, sometimes we get called by AJ / AQ and rejoice, other times we get called by 99-QQ and we race, and rarely you will run into AA-KK and then you cry... Notice that calling will STILL cost you your stack is villain has AA-KK if any of them hit the flop... and AQ/AJ can get away from K-high flop (as can 99-QQ).

This maybe a bad play, but I push...

What hands do you put the villain on?

What hands of the above range call our push?
