Re: Where can my wife play in Las Vegas?
Excalibur, Flamingo, Bally's, MGM probably have the most tourist-friendly 2/4 limit games (IMHO).
I think the best 2 small-buy-in tournaments are Sahara ($42 + $20 single rebuy, 20 minute blinds) and Caesar's ($80 + $50 single rebuy, 40 minute blinds). Most other low buy-in tournaments have 15 minute blinds and/or the blinds increase more steeply and/or the starting chip/blind ratio is too low. |

Re: Where can my wife play in Las Vegas?
If she wants to get her feet wet playin tournaments, have her play at the Aladdin. Cheap buy-ins, other newbies, friendly etc etc...
You can donk it up right along with her (make a last longer bet, my advice) I think they are like either 40 or 60 bucks, they have em (or did) at 10,12, and 8 and 12 again (not quite sure all the details but check it out, they also have a PF changs there so it can be a pretty fun AM stop) |

Excalibur has $1/$2 Limit Hold'em and a very touristy crowd. I have played there with the Mouse ... she's legally blind, can't really see the board, but last time she managed to win $30 anyway ... [/ QUOTE ] Unless it changed in the last two months, the Ex has 1-3, 2-6 spread limit and 2/4 limit games and the small buy in No Limit game as well. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Sahara has some low-buyin tournaments three times a day, and the structures aren't terrible. Caesar's has a decent 1/2 NL cash game, and their noon tournaments for $80+50 are great. [/ QUOTE ] How the hell can a tourney with 62.5% juice be "great"? [/ QUOTE ] Uh that's the rebuy. [/ QUOTE ] Then say that next time. Saying 80+50 without somehow indicating that the 50 isn't the vig is not only confusing, it makes you look like a clueless tool. Re: Where can my wife play in Las Vegas?
The Lux is a 1-1-3 game with a $50 max buy in. It's a terrible game.

Re: Where can my wife play in Las Vegas?
I am interested in low buy-in tournaments also, has anyone experienced the Luxor $30 freeze-out? http://www.luxor.com/gaming/poker.aspx
Also, does anyone know of a good comprehensive listing of the daily ones? Thanks! |
