NLHTAP Starting hands
I've read the disclaimers having to do with a "starting strategy". Am I to understand you never play AJo or ATo? I find this difficult to believe. Did I miss something?

[/ QUOTE ] You missed something. Those hands are classified as "sometimes playable" along with KXs, suited 2-gappers, and offsuit 0-gappers. They are playable in late position or against bad players. See p. 125. The only thing that is ambiguous about the starting hand recommendations in unopened pots is how to play KQo in EP and MP. While it is an "often playable hand," it is completely left out of the positional recs. I assume they intend it to be played like AQo and AJs/KJs/QJs, i.e. limp EP and raise MP. |

Charts?
Has anyone made a chart of the starting hands?
I just finished this section, and I just find it easier to remember this stuff if I see it in chart form. So if no one else has done it, I'll take a shot at it. |

Re: Charts?
I think 2+2 isn't so happy about passing around an excel doc with their intellectual property in it. There's a thread sorta about this in the About The Forum.

Re: Charts?
Not to worry, I was just trying to save myself the effort. Believe me when I say anything I might come up with will not be of a shareable quality anyway.

Re: NLHTAP Starting hands
Can any of you more experienced people tell me how that preflop strategy (which is stated to be for deep stacks 100 x BB or more) should be modified, if at all, for medium stacks (25-100 x BB)? Oftentimes casinos and cards rooms will only allow you to buy in for 40 x the BB or so.

Re: Charts?
And there's always Abdul Jalib's chart, which is all over the net.

As for T&P, whereas they recommended memorizing their hand groupings in HPFAP, there are all sorts of disclaimers on their starting hand recommendations in T&P. I don't think they intend anyone memorizing any charts for NL play. |
