Re: Sleeping in the car at AC and Vegas -ever do it
I did it many times in AC, never really had a problem.
Got starnge looks twice Security woke me up once to see if I was ok (alive)...then let me go back to sleep Havent done it since I started going down with over $1000.... Would have felt dumb getting robbed for over $1000 to save $50-100 |

Re: Sleeping in the car at AC and Vegas -ever do it
My sister has done it in AC, I think at Bally's.
I actually feel kind of ashamed that she is more ghetto than I. |

Re: Sleeping in the car at AC and Vegas -ever do it
I tried it at Turning Stone the first time I went, they were totally sold out on all their properties (not something I expected to happen obviously) but it was so [censored] cold I went back inside.
I've napped for a little in the Borg lot with no problems. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] The first time I went out to Vegas I slept in my car in the bellagio parking garage for 2 nights and had no problems... [/ QUOTE ] yes the bellagio doesnt seem to care... but all the other casinos do lol [/ QUOTE ] I'm gonna guess, but I bet they all care. And if they catch you snoozing in the car, they'll politely tap the glass and tell you to move on. But... security doesn't go car to car peering in the windows so your chances of someone seeing you and bugging you is slim. And if they DO catch you, you just drive to the next parking garage. But yeah, this is the wrong time of year to be trying to sleep in the car in Vegas. Yesterday's low was 86F at 5am. |

Re: Sleeping in the car at AC and Vegas -ever do it
3 friends and I went down to AC last year (May) and it's an 11-hr drive from here. We got into town about 4 hrs before check-in after driving all night and caught 20 winks in the car in the parking garage until the guy who was fronting the hotel room said ***k it and went in and coughed up a bit more for early checkin...

Re: Sleeping in the car at AC and Vegas -ever do it
[ QUOTE ]
And since the robber is making a mistake, the fundamental theorem of poker says that we benefit from the mistake and that makes it +EV to sleep in the car. [/ QUOTE ] Well, isn't it only +EV to sleep in the car and get robbed?? i.e. the robber only makes a mistake by robbing you. If the robber decides not to rob you then there's no mistake so its EV neutral. Therefore, the +EV play here is to sleep in your car and not lock the doors. |

Re: Sleeping in the car at AC and Vegas -ever do it
Poker takes practice. Sleeping in a casino takes practice.
While at home, put on your sunglasses, sit at a table with the racing form in front of you. Make it look like you are picking out the next days races while sleeping. This will let you sleep in any sports book in town. Bellagio, MGM, Wynn and Veneteian all have s\chairs worth sleeping in. |

Re: Sleeping in the car at AC and Vegas -ever do it
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] due to the fact you dont want to spend money on a hotel getting robbed isnt much of an issue because it would be -EV for teh robber as he would get little to nothing [/ QUOTE ] And since the robber is making a mistake, the fundamental theorem of poker says that we benefit from the mistake and that makes it +EV to sleep in the car. [/ QUOTE ] A simple ICM proze pool equity calculation will demonstrate it is -$EV for both of you. The $EV ends up moving to those not involved. It's +$EV for me to have you sleep in your car and get robbed because that's one fewer guy trying to rob me in the parking lot, plus one fewer good player making it to the table. |

Re: Sleeping in the car at AC and Vegas -ever do it
I've slept in my car twice in the garage at the Borgata. Never been an issue. Safer than hitting the parkway exhausted....
