I think Portugal and England should be about even odds in their match but either will be a pretty big dog against Spain in the semifinal

- This portuguese team is a favourite against England, I think that's a fair assumption.

i predict that the two countries will go to war within 3 days.

this is how europeans go to war with each other, its cheap and entertaining for everyone else...besides they don't have armies anyway

sure, Simão is playing very well so we won't miss Ronaldo all that much. Not having Deco is a shame but England is playing pretty poorly so even without him I still think we're favourites.

The sportsbooks, and bettors disagree. If you think they are wrong, you should be loading up.

LOL, you aren't very good at reading comprehension. Where did I say Ecuador was the favorite. I merely said they should not be over a 1-goal underdog, which they were.

you said plenty of times during that thread that Ecuador looked like the better team up to that point in the WC. Not that much of a stretch to assume you think the better team is a favourite.

I did. But it is a stretch to think that when I said that the line at england at a more than 1 goal favorite was off.

Besides, I repeatedly noted that I was rooting and betting on Portugul. Also, how would suggesting that Portugul is a dog mean I hate Euro teams when they are playing a Euro team?

You are all over the place.

I think Clark & FH are both all over the place. Clark, when he said you hate Euro teams he was referring to you making the same England a favourite over Portugal that you thought was a dog to Ecuador (I'm not saying that's what you said, but that's what he thinks you said). Aren't you poker players s'posed to be better at multi-level thinking?

That aside - did anyone else think Miguel had a fabulous game up to the point when the match completely fell apart? I thought he defended really well, making a couple of expert tackles in which he not only dispossessed the attacker but indeed came away with the ball himself, and he made some excellent runs deep into Dutch territory.
