"Saturday Night Live The Best Of" DVDs

Is it just me, or did the editors of these DVDs do an absolutely horrific job in their selection of skits for each character?

I am tempted to buy the Christopher Walken DVD, but all the reviews seem to confirm this trend - scenes that would be obvious for any Fan doing the selection are missing.

Alternatively, does anyone know where I can get old episodes of SNL?
