Main Event 1st Day Length

Main Event 1st Day Question:
The schedule of play says each day one plays down to 800 people. Does this mean that day 1A may last until 4am and day 1B may last until 1:15 am, depending on how long it takes to get to 800? I think last year they played the same amount of time on each day one.
Does anyone know? I'm new to asking/posting-please forgive me if this is in the wrong place

This thread developed in part into a discussion on the issue of how Harrah's would actually implement the stated policy of "playing down to 800" on a practical basis.
(Edit: the post I made did Not display the post reference from 2+2 but the post was under Televised poker in Early May)
Greg Raymers comments are certainly worth noting.

If you now look on the official web site you will see that while they continue in the verbage to reference 800 plays they have actually added a line in the blind structure that would lead one to believe they will actually be playing to the end of level #6 on each day.

This was exactly the conversation I was having in my head...how they could do this fairly.
Do you know when they stop accepting "walk-ups", or what happens if someone was given day 1A but shows up on day 1C with a note from their doctor/mother/dealer?

They cut-off registrations at the end of the first level on day 1A last year.

The guy on the P.A. made several announcements that 'now is your last chance to sign-up' and stuff like that.


No idea how they would handle you if you showed up 2 days late.
