Default Rivered 2nd nut flush faces aggression from passive player

MP2 is 63/3/0.80 after 70 hands

Villian, as stats show, is a passive nit. I rarely see him bet his good hands.

I've got the 2nd nut flush, but our friend here has suddenly woken up from his coma, which is a rarity. What would you do?

Call. But I hate being the guy who goes to war with the 2nd best hand.

I'd 3-bet/call. Maybe he has Ax clubs, but he might also have A6/K6/67 and thinks his two pair is good on the river against the backdoor flush. He might even have AK or 77 and slowplayed you.

I 3bet/call, but I also fold preflop.

*gnch*

Villain could have hit a lot of good hands on the river, including a straight or a flush - he could also be sitting on a set or 2 pair. At least you holding the 5 takes away a straight flush. It's really hard to give him credit for the nut flush. Reraise and call the cap if it comes.

I bet/call. There are many hands he could be doing this with that you beat even given your read.

Anyone want to take a free card on the turn? I kind of do, but i kind of think it sucks. Hmmm.

The preflop raise is definitely aggressive, but i like it if you've got some reads on the blinds (mostly that they are tight, weak, or extra-sucky).

And yeah, 3bet/call the river. If you lose, that's poker, but you miss too much value by just calling the first time.

Reraise. I'll guess QJ [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] but he could have a ton of hands that you beat.

*grunch*

since it's very unlikely villain is making any kind of play, and therefore very unlikely he's folding to a raise, it's a straight 50-50 proposition. Do you beat 50% of the hands he would raise with? His extreme passivity make that a little more iffy than usual, but I think you still beat at least 2 out of 3. I've seen similar players raise the straight into this because they assume since you were betting the whole way through the 3-flush is irrelevant. With his stats he might have the wheel. Or hell, even AA.
