It seems an appropriate time to respond to all this misinformed chat. As a member of the CnR management team, these are the facts:

1. As a member of probably the most reputable online poker network, we have absolutely no access to player deposits. The Network holds these funds and guarantees withdrawals.
2. The total value of the WSOP promised was $40,000 and not $100,000 - not everyone won a seat to the main event.
3. We take our promise to repay this obligation seriously and have already made the first payment to try and stop these ridiculous rumors. We don’t expect the repayment period to take 22 months. We have indicated 5% or more per month. We will pay more as often as we possibly can. Since our original launch in 2004 we have paid out over a million dollars in these type of promotions and, until now, have always delivered.

Honestly CnR management, it would have been "appropriate" to let the 10 of us know about this a lot earlier than you did since I don't think you can credibly claim you didn't know this was going to be a problem until just a few days ago Maybe you tried to come up with a last minute solution but failed, if this was the case, it couldn't have hurt to tell us that in your original email. Just saying you have cash flow problems doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. You also responded to the 10 of us slowly and failed to provide us with any real detail. To your credit, you have corrected this some what.

As to misinformation, I mistakenly assumed that the sum was 100K, not realizing that only three of us had won main event tickets. My bad. I think the question of why a company dealing with millions of dollars can't come up with only 40K is pretty legitimate.

However, I am more inclined to believe you now when you say that we will all be paid. Though I withdrew some of the money you gave us as a first installment (to help cover some immediate expenses), I left some in my account and just finished playing a tournament at CnR (though the withdrawal is still showing as pending, hint, hint). I'm assuming you now have some idea of what the reaction would be if you ever fail to make future payments.

Oh, and I was clearly kidding in that other thread on that other forum when I imagined the CnR boss with all our money trying to get even at some high stakes casino. I think I even added a liberal number of winky faces. Wow, I have to use that "hint, hint" thing more. Withdrawal hit Neteller maybe 15 min later.

Most reputable network? No [censored] way. Try probably the least reputable of all major poker networks.

Does the ongame sales team run rehabiliation programs for white collar criminals or is it just a charity for incompetent businessmen who don't realise if they promise to pay $10,000 in mid June they might have to pay $10,000 in mid June?

Your actions are awful and I am very glad you don't have access to players funds because after seeing this debacle I wouldn't trust you with 10 cents of my money.

Take the $500 and play in a stars satellite, you KNOW they can pay their bills.

You do realize this makes you look worse don't you. "Hey we didn't welch out of 100k its only 40k actually, but we still cant pay"

LOL.

If you did you'd have paid in full already. CNR not being able to make good on 40k tells me that you're on life support and it won't be long until you begin flatlining.

RIP CNR

That's not something to brag about - your margins are so razor thin you can't afford to shell out $40k?

How about you and the rest of CnR management defer your salaries on a 5% payment plan to expedite payout to OP and the winners? Or commit to having Ongame garnish your rake until the promotion is satisfied?

How about this as a completely reasonable solution.... You take ... $20,000 or so and send two of your players to the WSOP this year. Then do something sort of like airlines do when they overbook and give the other 8 $15,000 or so as restitution over the next 12 months. I know that I will never even consider playing on your network again, let alone your particular skin.

Poker.com post at Casinomeister

Poker.com saves the day for World Series of Poker hopefuls

The home of online poker, Poker.com, has generously offered to provide the WSOP packages won by ten ChecknRaisePoker.com members who have been told that ChecknRaisePoker.com is unable to fund their World Series of Poker prize packages as previously won through their website promotions.

According to various press releases surfacing on online gaming news sites, ten ChecknRaisePoker.com members that had won World Series of Poker seats have been informed that their prize packages are not to be honored. Via an email from ChecknRaise management they have instead been offered a series of small payments over the coming months.

Poker.com has attempted to contact ChecknRaisePoker.com management by email and telephone to confirm this situation and offer to cover the prize costs, but as yet have been unable to get a response.

Both the tournament entry fee and spending money according to the terms of each promotion will be provided by Poker.com if any of the affected players come forward.

Poker.com Director of Gaming, Paul Cherry said, "I don't want to comment too much at this time, as we are yet to obtain confirmation that the reported situation is accurate. But if the story is true, we are happy to help these players however possible.”

”From most players’ perspective, this is a chance of a lifetime, and I can’t think of anything more upsetting than to be told you are not going to Vegas, after having already won the prize. It’s only a few weeks away and the players may have already planned and paid for their travel arrangements.”

”Our own players are like family to us and we'd hate to see these ChecknRaise players miss out due to no fault of their own. That’s why we are offering to help them get to Vegas as a part of the Poker.com family and enjoy the trip they have won and earned. A trip that includes the chance to win a World Series of Poker bracelet!”

”I know that at Poker.com we keep all guaranteed tournament prizes and player funds in escrow, separate from operational funds to avoid such a situation ever occurring.” Mr Cherry said.

Poker.com has released this information in an attempt to resurrect the WSOP dreams of the ten players affected. If you have contact information for any of these players, please forward this offer to them and ask them to contact marketing@poker.com to arrange their compensation package. Spread the word to help us make sure that these players get the World Series of Poker experience that they deserve.

WOW
I have no experience with poker.com, but this certainly seems to be an awesome gesture.

Saw that too... was about to crosspost it but you beat me to the punch... This is definently a great deal for the players and hopefully it will generate some positive advertising for this small site... One would think that the big players, like Pokerstars and Party, in this? Regardless, it is good to see someone bailed the players out on this...

Read the press release again. They've offered to cover it but that offer has been extended to CNR not the ten players yet. Looks like a PR ploy so far.

Rob have you heard anything yet?

Before everyone starts gushing about poker.com I'd make sure they have done anything significant first.
