Re: how long...
I haven't ended a serious long-term relationship in like 7 years. Depends on how old you are and who broke up with whom, on what terms, etc. If it was messy or you were upset about it, it's totally fine to feel weird for well over a month. When one of my first really serious girlfriends dumped me I wasn't right for the better part of a semester. If you don't want to hook up with girls, don't, it will be weird and awful and you'll regret it.

[/ QUOTE ] Did you dump her? Is there any part of you that might want to be friends or on friendly terms with her? Since you have some uncertainty I'm assuming yes. Call her, give her your condolences, be brief if need be, but it will mean a great deal. NT |

ASAP, but generally I've heard it takes about half the length of a relationship to get beyond it mentally -- which is about what I've experienced. [/ QUOTE ] Wow, this is unbelievably on point. Almost exactly the same time length for me. |

Re: how long...
Eh, I get over relationships in like 24-48 hours.
I guess I've never been broken up with, though. In that case it might be different. |

Re: how long...
I have recently (within the last 3 years) gotten out of two 1yearish relationships. The first one, I was dumped, and it took me a good 4-6 months before I was really comfortable being with another girl. The second one, I did the dumping, and was looking almost immediately for a newer model.

[/ QUOTE ] i wasnt broken up w/, but im not sure how that changes anything. i was w/ my ex for almost 3 years, and getting w/ someone else just seems kinda awkward at this point in time... |
