I think the OP might be one of the announcers from ABC.

Shant,

How were you going to spend your winnings before you dropped half your roll on Italy today?

I was gonna get wasted and go dump 40 buyins at my friend's ome $20 NL game.

Edit: The best part is that Party must've bet Italy too because they've flopped me 5 sets and 2 quads today. <3 them.

The European refs were in the can, the huge contingent European fans wanted us dead, the Italians were playing dirty football with all the [censored] diving and offsides.

[/ QUOTE ]

Do all Americans think there is a conspiracy against them in everything they do? If the ref was biased he doesn't disallow Italys goal which was clearly not offside and he gives them a penalty for the US defender jumping onto Iaquintas shoulder blades and dragging him down

Italy doesn't look as good as England or Netherlands. To say they are the class of Europe is foolish. The U.S. played great, got screwed by a ref, and now have a chance to advance past round robin play which I compare to making the Sweet 16 in NCCA bball. Whenever my Tar Heels make the Sweet 16 I feel good about it and if US Soccer advances past group play two WCs in a row I will be equally pumped. Mock us all you want.

Italy didnt play well today, but they certainly can beat anyone in the world on there day. They are as solid as anyone else in the world, they just sometimes lack creativity with an aging del piero / just back from injured totti.

And also the referee didnt make any major errors today, cant be too many arguments with either red. They were a bit harsh yes (especially when compared to de rossi!), but neither were awful decisions

Italy are one of the few teams that can beat Argentina/Brazil. I would say they are the best European team comfortably. The didnt play well today, and USA played grea

I think you're confusing "who the best team is" with "who has played the best in the last 2 games"

Then the refs strike back, red card , I think 10 - 10. Then the worst call in the history of sports happens when the US gets their second Red card. 9 to 10. Unreal. I just saw a graphic that said no team has ever scored with 9 players. Crapola.

[/ QUOTE ]

Italy also played with 9 men the last 25 minutes.
