he really should have saved $20 of his river push and bought one of many poker books that devote at least a paragraph to board/handreading.

I think you played this hand nicely and he played it like the dirty loser he is.

FWIW, I fall for the come-bet quite a lot too because I'm a bit of a dirty loser most of the time, but luckily at lower SS tables you don't see it too often.
