2/5 NL: Advice on Hand
A brief background: I goto a club expecting to play 1-2 and they only had a 2-5 game going. I bought in for two hundred and hadn't played a hand yet. The villain in question has played numerous times with me and knows I am somewhat loose, while I know that his raising standards are somewhat non-existant.
These are approximate stack sizes: Dealer($300) SB($450) BB($150) UTG($350) Hero($200) MP($400) MP1($150) MP2($350) CO($50) Preflop: I am UTG+1 with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG folds, I raise to twenty(standard raise for this game). UTG raises to 60. Folds to me and I call. Flop: K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I check and UTG+1 raises to 75. I think for a moment and move all-in. Now, I am curious what mistakes I made as I am sure there are plenty. I know to most this may seem straightforward, but I just restarted playing again and trying to get back into things. |

Re: 2/5 NL: Advice on Hand
A-10 suited under the gun +1 is not a raising hand (in my opinion) If you raise and get called, not only are you unsure where you stand, but chances are that if an ace flops, your kicker is no good. Anyone that calls your raise most likely has you outkicked, or is playing a pocketpair. In a game of loose player, which it sounds like you were in, I would not raise with that hand in early position.

Post flop you should just open push - once he bets he can't really fold anything.

[/ QUOTE ] 1. Buying in for only $200 was a mistake. 2. Calling reraise preflop. If you really felt like he was weak enough to call with ATs OOP, you should have pushed all in. 3. The flop check is bad. Bet your draws, and if he comes over the top then you can almost justify calling all-in. as played, you're drawing to 12 outs and you're not getting the pot odds or the FE to justify the play. |

Re: 2/5 NL: Advice on Hand
Pre-PF: buy in for more... 40x the BB is not good enough, especially live play.
PF play is weak, either move all in pf or fold to his reraise. Calling with AT out of position is disatrous. Flop, you have a monster draw, but you also have absolutely no fold equity here... and he should call with pretty much anything. Lead out the flop and take it down. |

Re: 2/5 NL: Advice on Hand
PF-Buyin for more. Fold to a reraise. You got the near perfect flop. I think about leading all in. You now have 0 FE since he can call 65 to win 400.
A10 is crap especially with your stacks. I'd muck it PF UTG with your stack at this game. With that being said on the flop go broke here. |

Re: 2/5 NL: Advice on Hand
He might have only brought $200 with him considering he wanted to play $1/2. Its possible.
If he had more than definitely buy in for $500. I would open push the flop. |
