Sorry if this is a noobish post; been playing poker for over a year and a half now but almost all of my experience in NL is in tournaments, so I'm not that familiar w/ deep stack play. How does this look? There were some cards/possible action where I would call the turn but it seemed like this but overcall + OESD getting there made me wary.

I dont like this at all. For me its far too tight to fold your Aces here. I would have pushed on the flop and expect to be shown an overpair smaller than my Aces (maybe A7 or the flush draw). If he has a set then i dont think for one moment he will make a pot sized bet into a preflop raiser. You are ahead on the flop too many times to call and then fold to the turn all in bet. Push in everytime.

Please raise the flop. And if you don't raise the flop, please call on the turn. You have AA for chrissake.

I'm probably calling this. I think they'd do this enough with JJ-KK to make this profitable.
Also, I'd raise more pre-flop, especially given how loose your table looks to be. When I played NL50, my default raise was 6BB + 1BB/limper and that worked out okay for me. |

I would most likely call, unless there is some read that I'm beaten. I think pushing on the flop would have been much better than calling. As was said before, trips/2pair seems unlikely given the pot-sized bet, so you're probably looking at 99 through KK, with a draw or smaller pair also possible.

[/ QUOTE ] I think it depends a lot on the quality of the player making that PSB. If there's a read that he's a solid player, then a set/2pr is quite possible. On the other hand, I don't see an average player making this bet. From what I've seen, an average player will either bet small here or try to get in a CR with set/2pr. |
