.5/1; Rivered Flush Gets Raised (Full Ring)
Hero is in SB w/ J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
2 limpers, I complete, and BB checks Flop ($4) A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I lead for $3, BB calls and others fold. Turn ($10) 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I bet $7, he calls River ($24) 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I bet $10 he raises to $40 so its $30 more for me to call. He also has about $22 behind so putting him all-in for that much is a 3rd option. |

Re: .5/1; Rivered Flush Gets Raised (Full Ring)
Push.
You bet your draw to disguise your hand so he couldn't put you on the flush draw, and now he's either bluffing the flush draw or thinks you don't have the straight and is betting his own straight. Overflush might appear here sometimes, but it's the BB so you really can't put him on any hand. I think you're ahead here most of the time. Only the fact that he was coldcalling as you bet might indicate another flushdraw. You also bet weak on the river when the flush arrived, less than half the pot. He's putting in quite a raise where he might be trying to represent a flush. What were starting stacks. Any reads? |

I agree. Push. He's much more likely to have a straight than a higher flush.

Re: .5/1; Rivered Flush Gets Raised (Full Ring)
I'd call. He might be thinking the $10 bet on the river into a $24 pot seemed weak. Maybe he has a straight and doesn't want to see you stick around, or maybe he's got a weaker flush, hoping to avoid testing it.
I don't think I'd want to test that theory by re-raising him all-in, though... I'd call and hope not to see that king of clubs... |

I dont know starting stacks but I had him covered for his last $22.
No reads but its a BadBeatJackPot table. |

Push
If my count is right, there are 11 higher flushes and 16 lower ones, and just about all of them are plausible. (you can justify the 32s and 62s hands by the straight/draw he had. And you might even be able to cut the former down to 10 if you think he'd raise PF with KQs.) If he makes this play with any other non-flush hand, well, that's just more to you. |

I called, I couldn't find a push.

comments on the rest of the bet sizes are welcome. I did hit my straight on the turn.

Re: .5/1; Rivered Flush Gets Raised (Full Ring)
I think the rest was good; it looks like a standard A hand.
As for the call, that was my first instinct too. What did he have? (I'm curious to know if the big bet represents more confidence (i.e. the K).) |

Re: .5/1; Rivered Flush Gets Raised (Full Ring)
I am not trying to be a smart ass, but I am curious as to why you did not fold pf with J2s? It just seems you are calling with a horrible hand in horrible position. What flops, besides those similar to the one posted, are you looking to hit? Were there other factors at the table that led to your play?
As played, I like your line, and think that the call on the river is in order, and will win you the pot. on the turn I would bet more as someone calling 7$ will probably call upwords of 8-9. Cheers |
