Default HL Badugi hand, I lack balls, line check.

$1/2 HL game, Ive never seen any of these guys playing before so no reads, SB starts hand with $160, button has $200 and I cover.

I raise to 4$ UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], button calls as do both blinds.

SB draws 2, BB draws 3, button stands pat.

I make A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], blinds check to me I bet $8, button and SB call.

SB draws 1,I stand pat, button stands pat.

During the hand I kept thinking button was slowrolling me, or maybe being cautious with a better hand, but looking at this now it seems there is very little slowplaying in this game, standard line to pot it and rap pat 2nd draw because button is almost always rougher?

I'd checkraise button after the first draw. He has to bet here doesn't he? I'd never break this vs a pat all the way guy online.

I've also lost a ton against those type of guys. with clean T high baduggis. And then there are the guys who value 1/2 pot this crap on the river forcing me to fold my 9 high.

I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] this game. Just when I thought it was beatable in 1/2 pot limit form I now realize its not. But its more fun than blackjack so LETS GAMBLE!

Having played it a bit more recently, I really don't get Badugi. It's like triple draw but not as good of a gambling game. It's such a nitty game compared to triple draw.

Badugi limit is a great game, Badugi 1/2 pot limit is kinda lame. I'm over it too. Time for something new and exciting I can suck at.... PLO! You can stack me anytime Donkey, I know your good for it!

I agree re limit vs. HPL. In HPL it's a race to be pat first. In limit you can actually draw to a hand.

and then it becomes a game of chicken. Like 2 5 card draw players who both stood pat pre-draw. yuck.

My thoughts exactly, although it has been a decent earner for me up to 2/4, its kind of boring.

TT, are you really taking up PLO? I hope you like variance, it's one hell of a ride, although there is much more to it than HL badugi, more room to manuever. Sucks the limit Badugi games never run on Tribeca.

We played 20/40 mix at Commerce yesterday - TDL, badugi, stud/8, O/8. I still think Badugi is bad even in limit form. Very mechanical, and rock tight is correct strategy. Though I did beat a pat initial hand after drawing 3 on the first draw.

I'm just donking around in the $25 dollar max tables so far to learn the game, the first thing I noticed is that I can run these very low limit games over when its short, but playing a full table can become much tougher. I also enjoy it a lot more than limit Omaha or or limit O/8 which drives me a bit nutty.

Although I've read quite a bit on Omaha I'm really just playing from my gut using the knowledge I learned from applying TOP, some pot size theory from Ed & David's new book, and some LAG strategies I picked up from watching a PLO video at Cardrunners. If I played nothing but hold'em I'd go crazy, its good to play many other games to break up the monotiny... and besides my goal by the end of the year is to be good enough to play the Bellagio 40/80 mixed rotation. I can probably already crush the Tripledraw part, but Stud hi/low w/ no qualifier scares me to death!
