Re: If you are not married, then you are not \"cheating.\" Period.
[ QUOTE ]
Everyone else, however, seems to think there's some sort of "continuum" of commitment and relationships, that may or may not include marriage. If everyone feels that way, then why are people still getting married in droves? [/ QUOTE ] Maybe because those people consider marriage the ultimate point on the commitment/relationship continuum and something worth being a part of. [ QUOTE ] I don't know, I'm honestly surprised at how people are just waving away marriage as a real, actual commitment AND acting like BF/GF is just as "real." [/ QUOTE ] People aren't saying what you think they are saying. Just because people think bf/gf commitment is real doesn't mean they think it's the same as a marriage commitment. What they are saying is is that both are real (albeit different) commitments and that one element of both types of commitments is that you don't see other people. |

[ QUOTE ]
what made you come up with this post anyway ? it's kinda weird. do you feel stuck ? [/ QUOTE ] Man, there are a lot of people on here trying to attribute my post to something going on with me personally. Why is that? It's just an opinion, not a window into my soul. Thanks for asking, but I am very happily married. I made the post in response to yet another "Is this cheating?!?" post from one of the youngsters on here who's terrified he's "cheating" on his girlfriend. |

Re: If you are not married, then you are not \"cheating.\" Period.
I'm sure they could, but I've never been cheated on, as people asked, never had a GF leave me for someone else, as people asked, and do not feel stuck in my marriage, as gorie asked.
So "not necessarily," I guess, is my answer. |

DrewDevil,
Thank you for making me feel less worse about myself as a human being. At least I know I've got you below me on the totem pole. |

All,
The only interesting thing about this thread is how people are flaming and hating on the OP(300+ posts) for saying the same thing that Guids(3000+ post is saying). FWIW I think they are wrong, cheating is cheating. JMO |

The negative responses are just more proof that many in oot take it up the butt from the strap on's worn by their feminazi girlfriends.
You are absolutely right that people should date many other people until they figure out who is the best for them, and then get married. |
