Re: Old people rumble. who\'s being the douche?
You are all wrong to one degree or the other.
You for taking those stairs. I would take the train to 50th st and walk back up to 59th before I used those stairs. The old lady is wrong for not stopping to let the traffic by. The other lady is also wrong for cloggin the stairwell but this is typical New York and you just have to smile. The guy is the biggest douche of them all. Again typical New York but his play was to clearly stop and just stand in front of the lady, glaring at her until she moves. |

In my opinion, people walking down the stairs should have priority over those walking up. [/ QUOTE ] Nobody cares about your opinion because you missed the BBQ outing this weekend. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

Elevators, restaurants, etc etc. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, but in the case of the Subway it is different because if the old man is blocked or slowed down on his way down the stairs and he may miss a train and have to wait a long time for another train. For the people leaving the subway station being slowed down is usually less of an inconvenience. I also think that the vast majority of people are incredibly self-absorbed and show absolutely no courtesy. This is true everywhere I go, not just in New York. So I blame the middle aged lady - she should have been looking where she was going and gotten out of the way of the old guy. |

Re: Old people rumble. who\'s being the douche?
Good point, although isn't this more applicable when closer to the actual platform?

[/ QUOTE ] It applies to hiking too, which this situation is most closely related to. Either way they are both idiots. I side with the old man slightly more becuase the middle-aged woman was wasting everyone's time. |
