Default $16: Another AQ preflop post!

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t50 (8 handed) internettexasholdem.com

CO (t1540)
Button (t1695)
SB (t2805)
BB (t1530)
UTG (t1800)
Hero (t1395)
MP1 (t1400)
MP2 (t1335)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls t50, Hero raises to t175, 6 folds, UTG calls t125.

Flop: (t425) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets t225, UTG raises to t1625, Hero folds.

Final Pot: t2275

I have been sort of passive with some of the good advice you guys have given on not raising with AQo early with limpers. I am just spewing chips here correct?...

i like folding or limping pre-flop. you have an entire table -1 behind you and cant afford to get re'd preflop.

as played i would raise 200 PF, bet like you did on the flop, get raised, slap myself, then fold.

i dont think you're spewing, you did what i would normally do(given the line throughout the hand) on a tasty flop like that one (cbet).

i would fold AQo utg+1 preflop

I think folding it in this spot is too weakthight. Limping is okay, and so is the line with raising + C-bet at flop, but I'm not folding it. AQ is a good hand. I would also have limped with AJ

Just limp with AQ. What are you expecting him to fold for another 125?

I dont expect him to fold milton19, I dont expect him to fold for another 225 either. I try to keep the pot as small as possible so my contiuation bets are low.

Ok, but would any holding that can call the PF raise fold to a continuation bet with only two players? Probably not that often. I think it's cheaper in the long run to just limp.

Pre flop I would limp this. If position was different, say, limper is mid position and I am on button then this play makes alot more sense. Just to many left to act behind you and I am always a little bit suspicious of the UTG limper.

As played, post flop was perfect.

I agree with the posters who advised a pf limp. The tourney and your position are too early to jam it up with AQo, IMO.

I agree with the suggestions to limp preflop. But given the way you played it, I would check behind on the flop:

--Checking behind doesn't open you up to a CR.

--Checking behind makes villain wonder what you're up to.

You don't have to cbet just because you can.
