Re: My little brother just shut our kitty in the door...
I’m not citing the situation in the Congo as reason for not feeling passionate about the kitten. I’m saying that it’s hilarious how people think that one kitten down is deserving of the family’s death. I’m just trying to fathom how these posters would react to the atrocities of war if this is how they feel about one animal.

The general optimism of this forum regarding neurological injury of this nature magically recovering in time is both ignorant and ridiculous. Perhaps the family should sell their house to pay for the surgeries that might fix the problem and avoid the pangs of guilt. [/ QUOTE ] or they could atleast take the [censored] cat to the vet and see what is up first. |

Allegedly, the vet isn't open on Sundays. And the OP gave us no information about painkiller availability.

Re: My little brother just shut our kitty in the door...
Why bother consulting the vet when you can just give it a last meal of antifreeze?
When I worked out in the middle of nowhere, Utah, one of my coworkers - a HUGE redneck - would talk about how his mom would put bowls of antifreeze out when the strays got too bad. He claimed it tasted sweet to them, but was slow acting enough that the strays had time to wander into a different neighborhood before they died. |

I think this thread is bull [censored].
If it is not, too bad someone did not line up your family and put the kitten to your heads then pull the trigger. |

Re: My little brother just shut our kitty in the door...
As far as I know I am not responsible for anyone in Darfur. I did not bring them into this world and I only bear the responsibility I bear for any other human. If you don't spay your animals like a normal responsible human being, then you are stuck with the consequences.
I will admit that it is odd that I wouldn't have been nearly as pissed off if you had just drowned the whole litter. WTF is so hard about not letting your animals reproduce and create more unwanted animals? Once you failed to do that, you became responsible for caring for the result. |

That's where the outrage is on my end--being so incompetent as to do nothing but run to 2+2. |

Its being hypocritcal imo, to chastise his parents for putting the cat down and keep it from suffering anymore, and then going to eat a steak. [/ QUOTE ] Ah yes, the old tried and true argument of "I can do whatever horrible thing I want to an animal and you have no right to criticize because YOU eat meat". Since we mistreat some animals, we should mistreat *all* animals. Gotcha. |
