I don't think this "fear" you describe is necessarily bad. I think you just need a good balance of it, along with other emotions and thoughts. As extreme examples, you can't fold all but the nuts, but you also can't be so fearless as to push every hand.

I think I can understand what you say. Maybe you had been through a losing streak, and now feel you can be heading a better hand whenever you don't have the nuts.
I went through something like this until I hitted my first rush of sessions. Then I become an hiper-agressive player ... Until I hit the next downswing, and learnt to be more cautious but in a more balanced way than before ... Geezz ... it's learning the game. Learning where you are, what can you expect from your opponents, and what can/can't you do with each kind of hand. regards, dardo |

with me, the fear isn't that i'll lose my stack, or that my stack is at risk. with a hand like TPTK, folding to a push is pretty easy. i think the fear is the fear of being weak. when i bet a good, but not great, hand, i know that i'm quite vulnerable to any donk who hits the 'raise' button while reaching for his Natural Lite.
hoping for the call + fearing the raise = increased anxiety |
