Default Projector screen to multi-table

I used the silly search function and couldn't find anything on people using a projector screen to multi-table....

Please share your --experience-- trying this. I think that it would be nice to have all of my tables on one large screen and using a joystick or gamepad to control the game.

There have been some posts in the past but I think they would be pretty hard to find. If I remember right it would be very expensive, the bulb or something are not cheap. You also wouldnt be able to fit many tables because of the resolution.

To get the equivalent resolution of Dell's 24" widescreen you'd need to spend about 10k on a projector.

You wouldnt be able to add more tables, if thats what you are looking to do.

I think it would be hard to follow because the other tables maybe be a few feet away rather than a couple inches. You might not notice little thins out of the corner of your eye like when using a monitor

Not that this is necessarily a horrible, horrible idea (although it really might be...), but am I the only one cracking up at the image of this?

A regulare LCD monitor is your best bet. Projectors are expensive and bulb life is only around 2000 hrs. So with Poker it wouldn't even last a year, probably not even half the year.

Guys I was thinking about building something like the guys on this site are building...

Yeah my whole idea was to have more tables and remove myself from in front of the monitor.

I have a Dell 5100 that cost $3,000 and it has 1600x1200 resolution, same as my Dell Inspiron 6000. I have it setup to 4 table on Stars and it's pretty cool. I think the neatest thing is that you can use the remote from the projector as the mouse so I can just sit back in my recliner and play poker as if I'm channel surfing. My screen is a DaLite 92" electonci drop down. All told with taxes and super long cables for running USB, component, UXGA, etc, it cost me right at $5K. The bulb is $260 to replace but the initial bulb is supposed to last for 2200 hours in economy mode which is a pretty freaking long time.

As you can see, this is highly impractical, for the same cost you could have a pimp ass computer with 2 30" Dells that will last pretty much forever and be able to 3209542397532 table.
