Default Loose Aggressive vs. Tight Aggressive

A loose agressive player with good hand reading abilities will do far better than your typical tight aggressive player in tournaments and in the majority of cash games.

Heads up, the loose aggressive will win at least 60% of the time. (bs statistic i just came up with but probably true)

The tight aggressive style is way to predictable, and can easily be picked up on.

Obvious post of the day.

Of course someone who can hand read better is going to win more. Also a LAG who gets lucky is the most annoying player in the world.

Does one side necessarily have to prevail?

They are completely different styles if we assume each is being played by a proven winning player. There are losing LAGs and winning LAGs. Losing LAGs tend to make mistakes on the turn & river where winning LAGs, because of their superior post flop skill, only go deep with very good reason.

There are winning TAGs and losing TAGs. Tightness levels vary as do aggressive tendencies. One TAG may have a VPIP of 13% and can't find it in his soul to lay down a big PP when he should and another TAG could be playing 20% of his hands and have superior post flop skills. He could be more successful than many LAGs and enjoy less variance.

It seems to me, though, that the winning LAG will bank more money in the long run.

hmmm......now I'm all confused.

It's called playing great postflop and it can be laggy and it can be weak-tight depending on your opponents.
