Default Weaknesses/holes in your game as beginner

I'm working on evaluating my own play and fixing any/all holes in my game. Right now, I play frequently on Poker Syndicate (check it out btw, pretty cool site) and am usually tight but aggresive, middle stakes usually/sometimes high...limit...relatively new player to poker...so I probably shouldn't play that level, but thats the level that makes me go...

My question is: What errors did you notice you were making when you first started playing and how did you go about correcting them?

Respect you're bankroll & don't try to jump the learning curve, it'll hurt you in the long run.

Take time to think things over, life isn't about 40 tabling - once you can master a few tables expand you're game into multitabling.

Surround yourself with good players to discuss certain spots you don't feel confident in... they sometimes can help you pinpoints leaks you didn't think you had.

Just try to be true to yourself and be very analytical.

Goodluck!

Get a poker hand analyzer and record system like Poker Tracker. Take the time to make notes on your play as well as your opponents. Take the time to actually watch the replays of your play on Poker Tracker and make notes about your mistakes. No one can plug your leaks but you.

Play less hands. Each time I tighten up I swear I can't play any tighter. But pokertracker tells me otherwise.

This is what I would have reccomended to myself-
I was playing to high for my bankroll and skill limits. if your asking a questions like this, and you haven't been playing that long you prob are too.
good advice
1. play alot, study alot, take it seriously
2. been 100% honest with yourself. Stats won't lie to you- with large sample sizes
Good luck!

But I swear, I played live poker at least 2 hours a week and I was a big winner.

I honestly feel that, this could be the most valuable comment you ever read as a beginner whose looking to improve, move up, and conquer poker. The more and more you will play, the more you realize how little you know, how good you "really" are, or aren't, and how much more there is to learn. If you are honest with yourself you will be able to acknowledge the leaks you have, and not hinder your proggressive, as you will find them and fix them sooner.
