Barron, thanks for the thoughts. I'm still relatively inexperienced at limit, so I'm trying to soak in all the advice I can get.

Results of hand:

I actually didn't play it how I advised here. I called on the flop, then check raised the turn. He re raised me after my check raise. I called and then check/called the river. He had KK and took it down.

Villain seems like a real winner...

I think checking the turn is the worst line, since when you're beat it costs you an extra bet (3 OTT and 1 OTR) as opposed to leading out if you get raised it's 2 OTT and 1 OTR. This is obvious, don't even know why I'm posting. Just wanted to say Barron's explination is pretty spot on, very nice hand sir.

And how about those times when we win the pot? That's why we're raising, right? Because we think we're winning?

Well sometimes when we're winning the turn get's checked through. I just think betting the turn has so many more advantages.

Nice english lol. But we already established that the line you stated is the best line, see Barron's post.

Is calling and leading the turn bad? I'm pretty sure you want at least 1 bet to go in on each street, and if he checked the turn behind that would be pretty bad.

Assuming you whiff the turn c/r and the river blanks, is this a good spot for a river c/r? I think not, but I'd like to throw it out there.

[/ QUOTE ]

Against donks, if I want to lead the turn, then I might as well 3 bet the flop.

I'm raising pre-flop. I also would 3-bet the flop and lead the turn. There are enough draws on that board that my opponent could be raising that I don't want to give a free card on the turn. If the board was something like K-8-3 rainbow, then I'd just call the flop raise with the intention of check-raising the turn.
