Default Turn check

8-handed.

Three folds, Villain raises (18/12/2), one cold-call (49/9/.7) and Hero 3-bets A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

3 to the flop.

K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Two checks, Hero bets, Villain calls.

I think this is good. The only hand you want to bet twice against is a worse ace which there aren't that many of considering he opened in the HJ and peeled the flop. If he somehow has a hand worse than an ace you might get another bet out of him.

I like every street. If you have the villain beat, hes gonna check-fold is lower pocket pair, if he has you bet, youre gonna get raped. So this is a good turn check. You might induce him to bet the river with his 88 type of hand or you might induce a bad call by him on the river.

I like it.

Villan could be slowplaying trip kings or have a lower PP/ a 7- which are all reasons to check through and call a river induced bluff or bet.

Against a player with these solid stats, I think this check is perfect. Against a weaker player, a bet would be better since he is unlikely to release a hand such as a smaller PP... and also won't bluff c/r the turn. Sound right?
