Noob question: did I play this right?
PokerStars 0.02/0.04 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx
Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 7 folds, UTG calls. Flop: (5.50 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG bets, Hero calls. Turn: (3.75 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG calls. River: (7.75 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls. Final Pot: 9.75 BB I had been at the table for less than one orbit, so no reads. Should I have raised the flop? |

Re: Noob question: did I play this right?
You played it fine. No reason to raise that flop. You raise the turn, which has twice as much money in a bet. That is the right move.

Re: Noob question: did I play this right?
I think this is a standard good play. You have the nuts on the flop and there is no reason to raise there with UTG betting into you. Well played.

Re: Noob question: did I play this right?
I suggest you go back in time and post a new first hand.

Re: Noob question: did I play this right?
You have a monster and it's heads up. Definitely wait for the turn.
I actually like the advice above...pick hands where you're really not sure about an iffy situation. That's where I've gotten the most value posting here. Squeezing a 1-2 bets out of top set doesn't gain you much. |

Re: Noob question: did I play this right?
This is one of those rare instances in micros where a slowplay is fine on the flop. The pot is small, his odds to draw out on you are mega-slim, and you have only 1 opponent. Looks good.

Raise the flop if he's LAGgy, with no reads this is fine.
