I find it hard to believe that any kind of manipulative table talk during the hand is superior in the long run to just sitting there with your mouth shut when you're up against decent opponents.

I miss Sam Farha's chatter already. Matusow just says whatever he thinks and sometimes he just needs to shut the [censored] up because he looks like an idiot. Sammy's chatter I find pretty hilarious most of the time.

I do not think he wanted a call at all. A call puts him in a very weird situation with a scary board, lots of draws, hes out of position, and he has no clue if his opponent has a monster or not. As soon as DN made that comment and re-raised it was obvious to everyone at the table that he had the top hand so he did it to drive Laak out of hitting a card. DN seemed to be playing quite a bit tighter than last go around along with the fact that he only bought in for 350K instead of a million. He wasn't trying to go for the whole kill every hand he was involved with.

[/ QUOTE ] I didn't write the original comment but since you replied to my reply .... Daniel has made it clear several times in his writing how strong he feels about his faith and several times has voiced opinions on specific topics of interest to the church. If it interests you, you should search his blogs. I personally have no problem with his religious views and merely commented on what I considered to be an odd reply to the guy who called Danny's views silly.

The situation is this. Phil Laaks hand has nothing to do with anything. Daniel remarks also have nothing to do with this hand.
