[ QUOTE ]
Hello Pokerlicious "Yes, but don't forget that once the money is in the pot, where it came from doesn't matter. That should not influence future decisions." But you put it there! Isn't this like dropping money into the ocean and then jumping after it? Sure, you may suffer an accident, but there's good money to be found on the ocean floor. Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question, Smurf [/ QUOTE ] Well, when you put it in there in the first place, it was a +EV proposition. The fact it was once your money doesn't mean that on 5th street it isn't correct to chase it (if it is still +EV to do so). |

[ QUOTE ]
Quote: 5th is your decision street. If you catch bad again, you're almost certainly going to have to fold. If you catch good, then you need to figure out where you are. But in a heads-up pot your decision will never be that difficult because you will never have to worry about being jammed. quote: The problem here is that you are going to face some incredibly tough decisions on 5th street. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. It's a very bad habit to call bricks heads up w/o a powerhouse like 346 suited, when the opponent catches good. This is because let's say you start with 346 offsuit and on 5th you pick up a one way low draw and your opponent bricks: you're opponent might have paired or picked up a two way draw on 4th, either way he's in a good situation vs a one way low. I'm much more likely to call a brick in a multiway pot with a 346 off and a bunch of fives still in the deck - because completing a low can make some $ and a there is much bigger implied odds for making a two way hand. |
