Default Greatest Horror Movie of All Time - Round One

After much deliberation I finally have a list that looks pretty good. Some of the lower seeds are pretty much the sentimental, eighties movies like Friday 13th and Child's Play. However, as seeds are determined by the (stupid) masses there are a few shockers out there and some touch matchups in round one. The original Halloween vs. The Fly, ouch!

Without further ado, let's get on with our matchups:

I only voted in matchups where I had seen both. I really, really hope The Sixth Sense goes down. Not even a very good movie, let alone a good horror.

Well, the initial nominations thread went down last fall sometime. Then it got put on hold until a horror-buff friend of mine could weed through the first list a bit. Finally I posted that list here today and we've been banging it around a bit, coming up with the final 64. Once all that was done it was a simple matter pulling IMDB ratings for the movies to seed them, and input them in a post.

All in all, way too much time, but it's Friday so what the hell.

Swede

Dawn of the Dead vs. Re-Animator. Damn, Sophie's Choice! Two of the greats there.

I hope and expect The Shining, Psycho, Night of the Living Dead, and Halloween to do the best in these polls.

Night of the Living Dead vs. Suspiria was even a tough choice for me--and I think Suspiria is, well, far Susperior (groan).
