Re: NL25 push or value
Your flop and turn bets are mini-raises. If you'd made proper bets, a push would be 1/2 the pot.

Re: NL25 push or value
HERO thinks about how badly he played the flop and turn by not raising more to build the pot

1) Raise flop to $4 2) Bet $10 on turn 3) Push the river [/ QUOTE ] Why $4 on the flop? Why $10 on the turn? Determining appropriate bet size is definately one of my weaknesses. Also, how does your bet size change if the villian is a LAG or Passive post-flop? |

Also, how does your bet size change if the villian is a LAG or Passive post-flop? [/ QUOTE ] You want to set the bet sizes up so by the time the river comes, villian is pot committed to call your all-in with a worse hand. The way it is now, you're overbetting the river with an all-in. If the raises had been pot-sized(or closer to it) you'd put villian into this situation of calling getting 3 1/2-4 to 1 instead of 2:1-3:2 on the river...it's easier for him to call. |

Re: NL25 push or value
As played I don't think he is going to call more than $5-$10 bet on the river

Re: NL25 push or value
[ QUOTE ]
Why $4 on the flop? [/ QUOTE ] Pot is $2.10 + $1 bet + your $1 call makes the pot $4. Pot sized raise would be to make it $5, but $4 probably keeps him in the hand. There is something psychologically that makes $5 seem a lot bigger than $4. [ QUOTE ] Why $10 on the turn? [/ QUOTE ] Pot is $10.10 on turn (assuming flop action above). This way your river push is a pot sized bet. [ QUOTE ] Determining appropriate bet size is definitely one of my weaknesses. [/ QUOTE ] You are not the only one. When you flop a monster the first thing you should do is look at stack sizes and figure out what size bets on each street gets everything in the middle. [ QUOTE ] Also, how does your bet size change if the villain is a LAG or Passive post-flop? [/ QUOTE ] If villain is passive and doesn't pay attention to bet sizes then punish him with large bets. LAG is a very generic term. If villain is an AGGRO LAG who will bluff all his chips away then oblige him as much as possible. If he is a passive LAG then you have to bet. Good LAGs will fold if you raise their flop bet so you are better off letting villain bet the flop and turn before making your move. It really comes down to reads. The worse possible outcome is villain calling your river bet without a significant portion of his stack in the middle. |

Re: NL25 push or value
In this case he called my all-in.
The miniraises were just to intmidate him ,the previous hand he was pushed of a hand ,so i was thinking that this way he was more likely to play back at me. |
