What percentage of players are using tracker&Huds
I've been searching for this but didn't find anything.
While playing a $40+4 MTT at UB yesterday (I finished 3rd in a field of 96) I found myself wondering how many of the other players might be using PT and PAhud type programs as I was. I like UB for this as you can still collect data on other tables and when I got to the final table I had reads on nearly 100 hands or more on everyone there. While other players took a little time to decide how to react to my moves, I wonder how likely it was that they were looking at stats for me. I've got tonnes to learn about both MTT play and the software but this one question intrigues me. Does anyone know/know how to determine/care to make an informed guess as to how many players in a typical MTT are using tracking and hud type software? I'd love to see some ideas as I'm not sure where to begin on a decent estimate/guess. |

Re: What percentage of players are using tracker&Huds
Who cares if others use these? If they don't they are at a disadvantage to those who do, if they do, then you are on equal playing fields. I think most online players don't use it, at least until you get to the larger buy-ins/fields. If you are playing the <$25 buy-in tourneys I would venture to say that most players do not.

I don't use them and I'm curious about this too. Also, has anybody ever attempted to quantify the advantage conferred in large tournaments? Anybody care to guess how it affects ROI?

Re: What percentage of players are using tracker&Huds
Quick thought -- that poll probably won't be a good indicator. The players that read these forums are the kinds of players that are serious about the game and will invest in PT and PAHUD. The guy who's playing for a good time usually won't be here and he won't know what PT is either.

Re: What percentage of players are using tracker&Huds
Guys,
PokerTracker is NOT suited for NLHE MTTs. Since a good strategy not only changes the number, quality and way hands are played dramaticly as the tournament progresses and Ms go down, but also accomodates the quality of the current table and chip distribution it follows that (except for extreme cases like newbies folding all hands or calling all hands) stats based on historical actions are worthless. |

Re: What percentage of players are using tracker&Huds
I will admit I don't use any type of software. Im not going to brag and say how much money I've won playing sng's and mtt's, but i will say im clearly a winner at both. I have my own record keeping methods for tax purposes, but otherwise I just go by bankroll for measuring my success. One big reason I don't rely on software is I rarely play more than 3 tables at a time, and late in tourneys I usually zero in on that tourney only. This allows me to observe players and other tables.
