My copies of both books just landed today, so UK/European orders look like they're starting to hit their destinations.

The mail carrier just brought my copy about 10 minutes ago. It was mailed from Henderson on May 31 and arrived here in Silverado Ranch (about 10 minutes drive if Edward is driving and about 15 minutes if I am driving because I always get lost) today. The postage cost $3.72, and the padded envelope arrived looking like it had been chewed by wolves. Nonetheless the book inside was not damaged--and my copy is autographed.

Given that it took a week to go a few blocks and that the package arrived looking gnawed, it strikes me as some sort of miracle that the book got to the UK at all.

Actually, I don't know why Edward didn't just hand it to me. The last time I was at their apartment (Memorial Day), he had a few books, mailing envelopes, and mailing labels (for family members and such) in his office. Indeed I browsed through a copy and read the intro which I hadn't read before.

I think, actually, you do know the answer to that. You lived with him enough years to know that Ed is the absent minded professor. He almost never does anything on time. And he's supremely forgetful.

He meant to give you a copy then and there but forgot. So, he stuffed yours in an envelope and we both expected it to arrive much sooner than the next week's family dinner.

About the foreword, I just recently saw that as well. I thought it was rather strange that he referred to me in my full name. Whatever. The man is a little odd.
