Default FSN PokerDome Episode 2 discussion (spoiler)

At least one other 2+2er and I attended the taping of Episode 2 of FSN's PokerDome at the Tropicana in Vegas on Saturday night.

This show is worth taping if you like to study players.

In particular, pay attention to the head of each player during the heads-up battle. Whom is each player looking at?

One warning: keep a motion sickness "barf bag" handy as you watch the heads up match, as you will get to watch two "totally sick" hands play out.

1 question. Do the players get an appearance fee?

4 winners of $0.01 buy-in supersatellites on MansionPoker.com, one lucky winner of a drawing on MansionPoker.net, plus one other player, got to spend a weekend in Vegas, which included two nights stay at Caesar's Palace for two plus $500 in spending money.

The line-up for Episode 2 is:

From MansionPoker.com:

mpendle
zimbra
wackadoo
No Name - Perry "Tiltboy" Friedman, 2002 WSOP Omaha Hi-Lo bracelet winner

From MansionPoker.net:

BLRobin

Don't know how he got in:

sleekbob

MansionPoker.com qualifier "zombi2" did not appear as scheduled. I don't know the reason for his absence.

The expert analyst on the show was Michael "The Kid" Gracz, who definitely did more than enough on the show to demostrate that he deserves a multiyear, 7-figure endorsement contract.

Last night's tournament must have finished in under an hour, the way they had to pad the show, 20 minutes at the end and another 10 minutes before headsup play started.

I qualified for the June 18th episode, and it said that we get a $7k "package" for qualifying. There is no way 2 nights hotel, limo ride, food, and airfare add up to $6500. I hope the $500 isn't just in Caesar's-only money

The last 20 minutes of the show is a recap of what happened during the first hour and 40 minutes...........in case you came down with amnesia in the middle of the show, I guess.

Wouldn't that package include the fee for the tournament?

Congrats, Burdz. I was watching your heads-up table while I was waiting for my flight out of Vegas tonight. They give you $500 in Caesars Palace casino chips. When I got mine, I walked straight to the cashier's cage and pocketed my money.

If you read my blog: http://archimedean.livejournal.com, you can find out what two of the other players chose to do with their chips.

I'm not sure how they price that package either. I'm still waiting for my W-9 tax form in the mail, I'll let you know.

Good luck!

Is the PL format preflop in place just to prevent frequent all-ins, given the reported short stack structure?

I think it is both an action generator (since it prices in some drawing hands that NL raises price out) and stops the all-ins like you described.
