PS 3r - Good spot to steal?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t3000 (9 handed) internettexasholdem.com
MP2 (t24495) MP3 (t44621) CO (t30913) Button (t44576) SB (t35592) Hero (t102072) UTG (t42541) UTG+1 (t55438) MP1 (t57413) Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls t3000, UTG+1 calls t3000, 2 folds, MP3 calls t3000, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero raises to t18000 Considering the stack sizes I will be pot commited to call reraises and will also push any flop if called. Given that, should I just push here? Can I do this with worse hands? Is this a leak? Should I just check and play the flop? |

Re: PS 3r - Good spot to steal?
If your objective is to steal, then 18K ain't typically gonna get it done. All you've done is set yourself up for a reraise by a better or more aggressive player. Are you going to call if one of the other three players jams it up over the top of you?
IMHO, steals like this are done with intimidation by stack size. You have all the stack sizes covered and a reasonably decent hand if you get called. If you're gonna steal in a situation like this, You get maximum chance for folds if you put it all in there and put people to a decision for all their marbles. Even if you get called and take it on the chin, you still have 50K +/- with relatively small blinds and quite a ways to go. There is plenty of time to rebuild your stack, especially if you have the best of it against your tablemates. |

Re: PS 3r - Good spot to steal?
After my raise there is 31350 in the pot.
If the guy with the next biggest stack goes allin im getting 2.24:1. And much juicier vs the smaller stacks. |
