I'll post my reasoning after this gets some replies. I just got moved to the table so I have no reads.

Tough...
i'd go broke here if for some reason he has a set then he wins...2pair likely w/ no ace... can't say that folding is a good play here, you win more than you're beat...as AK, AQ raise pre, AJ might limp there but whatelse are you worried about? 2cents.. |

That's a very tough fold, especially since you had a stack that could absorb that hit, but it's probably a good one. His turn check-raise into two players is strong, even if it was relatively small. And if he did have a counterfeited 2 pair, I don't think he'd shove the river. Next time, raise the f'in turn, man. |

Either he made a straight on the turn or he's FOS. Even though the big overbet on the river is suspicious, without a read, I'd probably fold too. What else besides 34 makes sense to check pf, check call the flop and check raise the turn with?

Here's my reasoning: The BB got a free flop so he could have anything. He CR'd 2 people on the turn which signals a made hand, possibly 34o, a set of 2s, 5s, or aces up. I just call the bet because I have the NFD and I want to see what he does on the river, plus if I hit my flush, he's heavily invested and there's a good chance I'll get his stack. After his push, I really feel I'm beat. Also, I can fold and I still have a ton of chips. Still, it was a tough laydown.

Ugh, very tough spot IMO. You only have to be right 1/2 the time to make this a positive call....
I suppose I could fold, but that would be because I was thinking about the next hand, and would rather have the extra 7k in chips for sure to use. Thinking about this hand in a vaccuum (which is almost never a good idea), I am leaning towards call. Note - I sometimes, esp in the deepstackish rebuys, try to win big pots early (and thus lose my fair share of big pots as well ). Not sure if that is a good thought to have when deciding about this particular hand though. |
