If the Mavs were that dominant of a team you wouldn't need to blame so many outside factors...the refs heavily favored SA, Terry lost them game 6, etc etc [/ QUOTE ] Actually things like this perfectly assert why their dominance wasn't more obvious. |

They blew a 20 point lead and it was the Spurs game to win or lose with the last shot...in part because of one of the dumbest plays ever by Ginobli.
Was this part of them showing their dominance? |

That they aren't a dominant all around team...only offensively. They are a decent defensive team.
Ths Spurs coming back from a 20 point lead in Game 7 and having the Final shot to win...isn't exactly a dominating performance by the Mavs. Did they win the series...yes. Did they play better in years past...yes. Did the Spurs play crappy for most of the series compaired to years past...yes. Will they beat the Pistons...who are a better team than the Spurs. No. |

You have to be extremely creative to be this negative about a game 7 win on the road against the defending champions.

Its not a summary of a team based on one game.
Its the fact that they were up 3-1 against a Spurs team that was playing poorly especially on defense. They got taken to a game 7 and nearly blew a 20 point lead. Any team that is up 3-1 should be expected to win..even if it takes 7 games. I give them credit for toughing out a tough road game. I don't give them a ton of credit cuz they almost blew 3 straight games and lost. Jungle...if the Heat go on to a Game 7 and blow a 20 point lead, chancey billups just misses the game winner but go on to win in OT...are you gonna say wow... they(Heat) performed great and were dominant in that series? or are you gonna say wow..pheww they got lucky that billups missed that shot cuz they almost choked and blew a 3-1 lead? I say the latter...I guess you say the former. |

I say the latter...I guess you say the former. [/ QUOTE ] yes we know. when the mavs beat the spurs, it's not because the Mavs played well, it's because the Spurs played bad defense (#1 defensive team in the league statistically btw). When the Heat finish off the Pistons, it's not because Miami played well, it's because Detroit is sucking and not playing up to their potential. Then whoever goes on to win the final won't really be NBA champs, they're just lucky they didn't have to play (insert Spurs or Pistons here). Garbage. btw, i don't remember anyone saying Dallas "dominated" San Antonio, i think you're argueing with yourself. |

teamdonkey, the Spurs didn't play as well as they can and the Pistons simply played like [censored]. There's nothing to argue there.
