Greetings...
I know I'm about to get yelled at by Photoc in about .3 seconds, but I'm going to ask anyways. And now I understand why people always ask these types of questions...because they're freaking going to VEGAS for the FIRST TIME EVER tomorrow. So yeah, yell at me if you want. I've spent literal hours upon hours researching, and just want some quick last minute opinions from fellow 1/2 NLHE players. Myself and another 2+2 reader are coming in tomorrow. We have 4 casinos that we really want to play cards in: Wynn Bellagio MGM Venetian We're attempting to form a plan of attack. I'm not asking which will have the "softest action" or the "most fish", but simply where would you play during which times? We're planning to play sessions Friday night, Saturday during the day, Saturday night, Sunday during the day, and Sunday night. Where would you play during these times if you were a Vegas noob looking for some fun NLHE games in a sampling of the poker-centric casinos? Seriously, it's exciting. My vest is made of Kevlar(tm). |

Start at MGM as I think it is the only room with 1/2 NL fromt he ones you listed. I played there in late Mrach and found it to be very profitable. the room is in the middle of everything, so it seems to attract ots of casual drunk players in the P.M. and early A.M. hours.

Yeah...note that I'm aware that Wynn is 1/3 and Bellagio is 2/5. This is ok.
Also, isn't the Venetian spreading a 1/2 game now? |

Small games on weekends in those places should be soft across the board. I rarely play NL in Vegas, but when I was there last time I played a bunch of late night 2-5 at MGM since I was staying across the street. The action was very, very good and I imagine the 1-2 is the same. Good luck.

weekend 1/2NL and 2/5NL is pretty much soft anywhere
if you get a [censored] table just scope it out and ask for a table change.. also...dont forget to check out the 500max 1/2NL game @ Caesars |

I'm not going to yell at you and you really didn't have to single me out. That's just not cool.
But here's an answer to your question. Use the...ahh n/m Wynn 1/3 NL (no cap buy in) average is 100-300 buy ins though. Wait times can be 1hour+ on a weekend. Venetian 1/2 NL 50-200 buy in, room is getting busier with a lot of locals chasing the freeroll atm. Don't know wait times. MGM 1/2 100-200 buy in probably the best room of the 4 to play in. Wait times 30 mins - 1.5 hours depending on how busy the place is on a weekend. Bellagio lowest NL is 2/5 NL. Play there if you want to say you "saw the pros" but be prepared to deal with pompus/arrogant management. All prepare for a 2 hour wait on a weekend here. |

Was mostly joshing you Photoc, please take no offense. You're the defacto n00b-buster I appreciate your response (and the others so far), including the wait times. Thanks again.

ROFL
Anyone else in town this weekend? I'd invite folks to party like a rock star, but I'm likely going to be partying like a loser playing 48 straight hours of poker. |
