Default Chuck Klosterman\'s 23 Questions #15 The Tumor

I [censored] the numbering up somewhere again- but this is the next one...

You have a brain tumor. Though there is no discomfort at the moment, this tumor would unquestionably kill you in six months. However, you life can (and will) be saved by an operation; the only downside is that there will be a brutal incision to your frontal lobe. After the surgery, you will be significantly less intelligent. You will still be a fully functioning adult, but you will be less logical, you will have a terrible memory, and you will have little abitlity to understand complex concepts or difficult ideas. The surgery is in two weeks.

How do you spend the next fourteen days?

This is oquestion bugs me. I don't think I'd have the surgery. I can't imagine what it would be like to remember how you used to be, and realize just how far away from that you are now. I think I'd take my six months and call it a good life.

I think alot of people answer like this when responding to a hypothetical, yet do the exact opposite when faced with the actual situation in real life. Much easier to say than to do.

I'm pretty damn convinced that I'd off myself when I realized how [censored] dumb id become. With the whole not having the surgery option, I get to enjoy my last 6 months and my family doesn't have to deal with me eating a bullet.
