Default When nothing makes any sense anymore... (3/6 NL 6 max)

I have no idea how to play this hand correctly and no idea how it got played the way it did. Villain is a regular at 3/6 but he's not very good - tends to call a bit too much. I'm pretty sure question marks literally appeared above my head when he played it as he did:

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ Hero (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com

UTG ($611)
MP ($86.75)
CO ($128.13)
Button ($1210)
SB (Villain) ($792)
Hero ($1137.60)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB (Villain) posts a blind of $3.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP calls $6, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB(Villain) (poster) raises to $27</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $94</font>, MP folds, SB(Villain) calls $70.

Flop: ($206) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Villain bets $150</font>, Hero calls $150.

Turn: ($506) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Villain bets $380</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $886

what are his stats, and who is he? If he's a tag this is a definite fold, if he's a lag i'm pushing turn or raising flop and getting it all in if he comes over the top.

Why not just raise the flop? He's not folding 88-JJ.

i think thats a little far fetched...... we didn't hear how large triump's 3-betting range had been, but him 3-betting a raise from the SB shows some strength. 88-JJ would NOT bet/call here unless the villian was tilting or bad.

It's breecedjp, ender - in between TAG and LAG. I think I had him at like 33/16 before but by this hand he was down to 25/12 - definitely tightening up. He's made some bizarre moves in the past but that flop lead really had me confused.

I hated the idea of pushing the turn since TT is now ahead of me - all I beat is JJ. Since there's a shortstacked limper in the hand (a donkey, but still a limper), he can't be on air or some sort of goofy nonsense, and this was the first time I'd seen him raise out of the blinds in this spot all night.

Ive only played him a little bit, but he played extremely tight against me. I'm guessing he rarely raises out of the blinds, and you're probably up against AA/KK here. He was definitely playing pretty passive with some strong hands tonight, so I doubt you were ahead, good fold.

WHy call the flop lead if you intended on folding the turn bet? Imo, either pop the flop or release it

This is a good point and I agree. If you put him on the higher pair you know it's going to cost you more on later streets.

he could be playing something like 99-jj this way, but usually would not fire the turn again. i dont mind the flop call as the turn will usually define his hand well and there may be enough value to take one off here.

If this is the case, wouldn't a smooth call pre-flop be best? If he's tight raising out of the blinds, his range would be something like AA-TT, AK-AQ. By re-raising, I think we give him the opportunity to play perfectly against us: he'll lose the least with TT-JJ and win the most with AA-KK by possibly stacking us.
