Default Huge flop overbet 50NL

Villian here has just sat down this orbit. I had no idea what this bet meant. A friend was sweating me at the time and advised a call, I wasn't so sure. Thoughts on wtf this is?

I'd roll my eyes and fold. But make a note. If he does this a lot then you can start making looser calls.

Smells like TT or AJ to me. With no reads, pick a better spot. After you've played 50+ hands against him you will know what to do in this spot.

I fold because I have no reads. Stack him when he does this and you have a real hand.

It's likely that he's got KQ for the draw, but it's more likely he's got TT or any jack. I really don't think he's doing this with garbage, and if he is, you'll notice it in another 20 hands... and hopefully he'll buy back in so you can stack him again while he's tilting (note: you're not stacking him this time, you're stacking him next time when he does it again and you or somebody else at the table has a hand). Wait for a better spot and for a read.

Those are the only hands you beat. Your behind a ton of hands. Your calling a 9 x pot overbet with a small overpair. Villain probally has 1010 or a J or even 10J (I've seen some players at low limits do that). Occasionally you'll see a bluff or semi bluff but I think most of the time your behind. Without a read this isn't an easy call by any means.

based on WHAT does he prob have the nuts or 3rd nuts (relative)? I've seen this overbet type thing loads of times on the flop and I can't remember the last time it was a monster

Put yourself in villain's shoes, think why he's making the overbet. I really don't like foldinhg here

You need a read to say this. Otherwise your hand really isn't that great right here. I doubt it air a lot more than it's a monster at these limits. If he's making a move so be it but you can get your money in a lot better than here especially without knowing what your opponent is doing at all.
