Hi!
I installed snoopfree for a couple of weeks ago, Party wants to hook my keyboard which seems natural. The weird part is that every time I start Party it creates a new file with different names very similar to 3A.tmp and that file wants to hook my keyboard. It seems very weird to me. Is it a keylogger that detects party and starts every time I start Party or is it parto fthe Party software to circumvent blocking the PArty.exe to read the keyboard and processes etc(if you have some program like that installed). I have Norton Antivirus Norton Firewall SpyBot Not any of those programs reacts to that file. Anyone who can enlighten me what is going on? thx |

Party copies its security DLL from the party directory into a temporary directory and the loads the library from there, instead of loading it directly from the security DLL. I presume this is what party considers some sort of rudimentary security precaution - but really its just stupid. No it is not a keylogger, well not in the sense that you're thinking. Its part of party.

I believe the .tmp file is used for chat, when I had snoopfree deny it, I couldn't chat.
Party software is generally stupid |

It isn't used for chat it is used for keyboard/mouse hooking, however a side effect of disallowing certain types of hooks that party attempts to create is loss of the ability to chat.

so then I can sleep well really annoying that they use different names every time so Snoopfree will pop up with it's dialogue to prevent or allow it. |

One would assume to catch bots, of both the spam and poker variety.
