Looks like you're playing for half and behind for it. I'd fold.

I would bet out on fourth, since you're calling anyway. I think you're drawing live both ways. 862 ought to be raising if he's got a low. Your straight should certainly be good. I would plan on betting a straight, but would be cautious with a low unless maybe I went runner-runner for a Seven. I'm not folding unless the action gets heavy.

Curious - why not bet 4th yourself? I'm not questioning it really - just wondering. As played, I just call and try to hit - is that wrong?

I might bet 4th, but I probably check-call most times. I think you want one bet to go in, but most likely not two or more. Basically, on 4th all you have is a straight draw and really not low potential. I like to make my hand and then put in bets on bigger streets. And since your hand is live it is good to get to the bigger streets. Call 5th, and most likely call 6th unless something crazy happens. But yeah, dont fold!

Is seat 7 stupid enough to just call here with an 86 low?

If he isn't I would call easily. If he is I would call easily anyway. I'm just curious. If they catch good on 6th and try to jam you, you can get away from this with no regrets, you are fortunate enough to be closing the action here to draw to your hand.

Your opponents have poor low draws, albeit probably slightly better than yours, but you have a good high draw which can very well allow a scoop, plus pairing almost any of your hole cards will probably put you ahead depending on what opponents catch. Just concentrate really hard on spiking a 5 so that the hand plays out easily from here.

This is an easy call in my book. You still might have a shot for low and if you hit your high its almost certainly good.

Perhaps from now on I should just PM mscags when I'm unsure about a hi/lo hand. But I guess it's fun to make the discussion public.
