Congratulations to the Cardinals. They should be a shoe-in for the NL Central title this year. The Astros are doing everything they can to give the season away.

They are losing to the Pirates 12-5 right now. In the 6th inning. Tim Purpura: Please send Preston Wilson on a raft in the Ship Channel. He can't figure out how to get a double on a ball hit off the wall 2 feet from the right field foul pole.

Albert goes 3-run big fly to go up 3-1! How do you walk JRod with 2 outs and Albert up next??

St Louis continues to outperform their pythag. Fortunately for them, Cincinatti is also really outperforming theirs.

Look for St Louis to open a bigger lead and for Houston to fall out of serious contention by the end of July. That overrated Acesishigh blowing the pitching staff will not continue.

Better question, how does Phil Garner pinch hit for Oswalt after 6 dominating innings and only 91 pitches?

I wouldn't call 8 baserunners in 6 innings dominant. He had to get out of jams in the 1st, 4th and 5th and that could be why Garner yanked him. Also- you have to love the more hits than innings pitched trend that he's showing this year.

Oswalt is one of those pitchers that can continuously win 20 games with a combination of luck and never being very dominant.

0 runs, 5 Ks and striking out Pujols on 3 pitches with two runners on would suggest otherwise...

Yes Joe Morgan would probably agree with you. Oswalt is incredible because he "holds runners well" and because he "has those intangibles". Great points.

This is one of the most idiotic posts i've ever seen. If you don't think Oswalt is very dominant, you haven't watched many of his starts.
