Getting Reads on Typical Home Game Players
I play 99% of my poker online, but every once in a while I will catch a NL game with my friends. They are all average college students and the game is usually only about 10/25, or something small like that. Although the limits are small, and the money doesnt mean a great deal at that level, I still love to win. Only problem is I have a tough time reading them sometimes. Hell, one kid is so clueless, he doesnt give off any tells because even he himself doesnt know enough about the strength/weakness of his holding. Any suggestions on finding reads/tells on everyday guys like this, who don't play too much? Would I be better off looking for betting patterns or perhaps just concentrating on playing textbook Tight/Agressive poker??

In situations like this play tight. Value Bet your big hands. Don't Bluff. Assume all the players are calling stations until they prove otherwise.

Spot on.
Have some patience and play good hands. Your tricky moves are no good here. |
