Errors/Typos in No Limit Hold \' em: Theory and Practice
I thought I'd start this thread to embarass, I mean help, my good friend Ed Miller for his imperfect proof reading.
Page 183 & 184: You open for $40 with QQ. Big Blind calls with Kh3h. The flop comes Ah,As,Qh. Error: ...and he realizes he's drawing dead to a runner-runner royal flush. Obviously, runner-runner Kings would give him Kings-full to beat your Queens-full. Also, runner-runner Aces or an Ace and a King would outdraw the QQ. I tend not to be good at catching this stuff or just letting it slide by. So, let's all embarass, I mean help, Ed and 2+2 by pointing out all the errors we find. |

I think those are called "hidden outs".

Re: Errors/Typos in No Limit Hold \' em: Theory and Practice
I finished the book last night and I have to give Ed & Co. credit. I didn't notice any more errors. But, like I said, I'm tend not to be good at that stuff. I'll probably reread the book next week. Hopefully, I'll find a couple more.
I got a PM from somebody who thought I didn't like Ed because of this thread. It was kind of funny. For anyone else confused, I'm sure everyone involved in the book wants these errors pointed out so they can be corrected in the second printing. |

Re: Errors/Typos in No Limit Hold \' em: Theory and Practice
I caught another. On page 154-155, Hero has 54s on a board of AKT2 rainbow. On page 155, it says "But if you do catch your wheel, (giving you the nuts)..."
Unfortunately, the wheel is not the nuts here. QJ is. |

Re: Errors/Typos in No Limit Hold \' em: Theory and Practice
on page 192 his opponent folds 52s on a Qh5h5x2x7h board
"..lucky that the flush card came off and bluff worked..." why would his opponent fear a flush when he has a full house? |

[/ QUOTE ] Wow.. that's a major goof! Thanks for catching it... I'm sure we'll hear about that one forever. IIRC, it's supposed to be the 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. The villian is supposed to have trip fives, no kicker... not a full house. |

Re: Errors/Typos in No Limit Hold \' em: Theory and Practice
I don't know if this is an error, but KQo is listed as an "often playable hand" in the preflop section, but then is omitted from discussion in the various scenarios (ie first in, 1 limper, etc.).
