[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Can't argue with you Sublime. You think the RS front office is infallible and there's no way to change your mind even when it's self evident when they've [censored] ed up. [/ QUOTE ] so the pena trade was a bad one? WHY? mistakes the front office has made since the WS: varitek to 3 year contract not signing pedro clement renteria are you not happy with pena? do you REALLY THINK ARROYO WOULD BE AS EFFECTIVE IN THE AL EAST? you are the one that bumped this issue, please respond to my questions. you dont like pena because he strikes out a lot and you come from a misinformed era that view strikeouts as a massive catastophre. [/ QUOTE ] i thought you were one of the main defenders of the renteria deal last year, no? |

more of a lets wait and see defense, buy yeah. people were pooping on him before a quater of the season was over.
funny thing is, the people who whined about renteria last year didnt like when they traded him for marte. you really cant win in boston. or NY for that matter. having to 'defend' a guy like alex rodriguez is mind boggling. |

Coco back on Monday. Rumor is he will leadoff, Loretta will bat second, and Youks will be dropped towards the bottom of the order. WTF?

Re: *Red Sox thread* News, views, and love for the front office
Well Crisp is off the DL and Pena is on it, as well as Timlin.
That's a big blow to the Red Sox bullpen because Timlin's temporary replacement is Manny Delcarmen, a low-regarded Red Sox prospect who sported a 9.82 ERA in 4 games earlier this year. His 2.73 WHIP probably didn't help and opposing hitters were batting .444 against him. We're entering a long no-off day period coming up so look for Papelbon and Foulke to be overused and for the Sox to struggle late in games. |

Re: *Red Sox thread* News, views, and love for the front office
um, why wouldnt timlins 'replacement' be foulke, and his replacement be tavarez/riske....?
delcarmen will be the last guy out of the pen, but whatever. as usual, lets not let facts get in the way of dumb posts. timlin has averaged .4 innings per game so far this season. his DL stint is 15 days which equates to about ~12 more games or 4.8 innings they have to 'replace'. im sure foulke and papelbon can split the huge 5 innings they need to pick up. clearly the recipe for late inning struggles. |

Silly me for looking at the fact that Foulke and Papelbon are on pace for 90+ innings apiece.

Papelbon is on pace for 87.5.
And, you do realize now that Proctor sucks again the Yanks are a 2 man bullpen as well (and have been for years)? Go away. |
