$33 flopped strt from BB
180 left out of 400 players. Hero is about 75th with t5500.
Blinds 100/200 Hero checks J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the BB in a 5 way pot. Villain has me covered. Flop (1000) 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB checks. Hero bets 500. MP calls. CO folds. Button folds. SB folds. Turn (2000) A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero checks. MP bets 2500. Hero? I guess I should bet more on the flop, but I was hoping to get raised so I could push. |

Re: $33 flopped strt from BB
supercomputer,
I agree, you should have bet more on the flop (750-1000). The flop was dangerous (2 spades), your hand is strong but not a lock. You have to protect your hand from someone drawing to a flush in this spot. Turn Ace of spades comes off on the turn, defiantly not a card you wanted to see. You check, he bets 2500 into a pot of 2000. So what hands would he make this play with (in the order of MP having each hand)? 1. Straight 2. Two Pair 3. Flush 4. Pair Do you have any reads on MP player? He could have easily limped with two high cards in this spot. He could be interpreting your check as weakness and be making a move at the pot. In general, you have to push here. The percentages say you are going to be ahead or in a split situation more often than trailing in the hand. |

Re: $33 flopped strt from BB
Yeah, the flop was a situation where in a 33 rebuy a lot of players are limping in with hands like KT, QT, QJ and then raising. I wanted to get all the chips in on the flop and was hoping my probe bet would look like a weak hand/strt draw. I cried on the turn and pushed. He had 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and I was out.
